More football

We signed Matthew up for a 5 on 5 football league at the YMCA. Since Matthew loves to be quarterback, Mike thought this would help with getting his throws of quicker. Plus, I think the two of them just really missed football. How much longer until Fall football?

t-ball

Since Michael was playing soccor while everyone else was playing baseball/softball, we decided to sign him up at the YMCA this year. His basketball coach was coaching a t-ball team, so Michael got to play with some of his friends. It was a fun season, even though it was a challenge for Michael to stay focused on the field. The team went undefeated, but best of all they had a ton of fun.

How can it be the end of another school year?

It is really hard to believe that another school year is over. It flew by faster then any other year. I absolutely loved having three of them at the same school as me. I could stop in and visit them whenever I wanted. Also, if they were having a hard day, they could stop by and get a hug. Amanda's school was just down the street, so it made it easy for me to stop by when she needed me too. I feel so blessed by God providing this opportunity for me, I mean if you have to work, how much better could it get. The kids all had a great year. We are so proud of them. They continue to amaze us with how smart they are. I do not feel like I'm smarter than a 5th grader (or at least not mine). This year Amanda had pre-AP math, which we all struggled through, and I heard Mike almost nightly say that he hates 7th grade Math, but we, I mean she, got an "A" in the class. It won't be long before they all surpass our knowledge, and they're only in middle school, scary.

Michael and Mrs. Braddock. Michael loved being in first grade. He absolutely loved that he learned how to read, and can read books by himself. He had an awesome year, and I loved that his class was on the same hall as me because I got to seem him throughout the day!

Matthew and his homeroom teacher Mrs. Andrews, love her. I didn't get a chance to get pictures of him with his other teachers because I had to run off to Annie's assembly. Matt had a great year too, and enjoyed being in his SAGE class most of all. That class met on Mondays and he said it was like having a 3 day weekend because the class was so much fun, kinda crazy.

I had to include this picture because it was totally funny. You can tell that Matt must have a mother who nags him about smiling for pictures. Every time his name got called he would stand up on the stage and turn with this huge smile. After about the fourth time, I couldn't help but giggle (along with a few other parents). I have sinced told him that he can tone down the smiles, not that I don't love them, just that he was usually the only one smiling. You probably had to be there to totally get it, but thought I would mention it.

Annie looking so Beautiful at her award assembly. She had a great year, and won lots of awards. Our biggest surprise was that she was the top reader of her class. You might wonder why we are so surprised, Annie hates to read, so she never thinks she is good at it. I think this gave her a huge boost in reading.

Annie and her friends, hard to believe they are all moving on to the middle school. What a sweet group of girls!

I know this isn't the greatest picture, but after sitting through several hundred of kids getting their awards, I almost missed getting a picture, so this is all I have.

This is Amanda holding her NJHS (National Junior Honor Society) award. It was a special award that she received after being nominated by one of her teachers.

Michael's father's day program

We can't just do one for mom, daddy got his special day too. They did songs like "Let's hear it for the dad (boy)", "I've got you dad" --- very cute. Mike then got to enjoy a nice picnic lunch with his bud.

Look who's riding a two wheeler!

Mikey had been bugging and bugging us to teach him to ride his bike without training wheels (the poor guy had to wait for a weekend that was free). We were so surprised as to how quickly he caught on. He was really proud of himself and couldn't wait to go on rides with his brother and sisters.

Kid's choir

Annie, Matthew and Michael sang in the kids choir at our church. Mikey actually got a speaking part (which he was very excited about)! This was Annie's last year, so she was presented with a hymnal with her named engraved on it. She was very proud of her new hymnal, who would have known.

Discovery Museum

The SAGE class at school did a Discovery Museum this year. Each child in SAGE had to research how things affect our enviroment. Matthew did his project on Nuclear power and discussed its advantages and disadvantages. To get more into character he dressed up as a mad scientist. All the classes in the school got turns to visit the museum and see the presentations and ask questions. Matt had a great time, and was surprised by the questions that some of the younger kids came up with.

Happy Mother's day

We had a quiet Mother's day just having fun as a family, exactly what mom wanted.

Mikey's Mother's Day school performance

I was so excited to be invited to a Mother's Day performance and picnic by my little man. The first grade teachers worked so hard and put together an awesome time for the mom's. We got to enjoy the kids singing Pretty Mama (better known as Pretty Woman), Because You Loved me (by Celine Dion), and Ain't no Mountain High Enough. We also received books made by our child, always a highlight to see your child's comments about you --- by the way, I only weigh 80lbs and I day dream about not having to do all the stuff I have to do and reelacksing (he got half of that right). Then we got to enjoy a nice picnic lunch out on the school's grassy area of the playground. Mikey and I really enjoyed being goofy and giving each other lots of love. It was a special day that I will forever cherish!

Hay's talent show

Annie and her girlfriend, Emma, were chosen to participate in this years talent show. They put together a dance to "Momma Mia" (still not quite sure as to why they picked that song as neither of the girl's have seen the movie, oh well). It was a really cute performance, and we were amazed with some of the talent at our school!

RA awards

RA's (Royal Ambassadors) is a church activity on Wednesday nights that the boys were involved in all year. They receive dog tags at the end of the year for participation, helping with missions, Bible verse learning, etc. They boys always enjoyed themselves and some of the highlights were a sundae eating contest, derby racing, and of course the pass, punt and kick.

The Boomerang Express

Our church did a presentation to promote this year's Vacation Bible school. Annie and Matthew were so excited to get acting parts in it. Annie had a very serious part, while Matthew was the comic relief. They both did a great job.
