Happy Birthday Matthew

Matthew celebrated his 11th birthday with dinner at Joe Willy's (a really yummy hamburger joint in town) and mommy's homemade ice cream cake. He too opted for an IPOD instead of a party! Happy birthday bud!!!

Michael's surgery

It was decided that Michael had a hernia that needed to be repaired and a couple of other little boy issues. It is always hard to see your little one being wheeled away for surgery, not matter how minor it may be, but we trusted God would see him through. He did really well, and only had a nausea for a little while after surgery. The facility we were at took great care of all us.

Right after surgery, obviously not very happy. We thought it was pretty cute that the doctor dressed Mikey's Mickey Mouse up for surgery, Mikey wasn't as impressed and asked for us to take them off. At that moment, I don't think anything would make him happy except getting the IV and other lines off.

Mikey hanging out with Matthew and Cole the day after the surgery. It will be a long two weeks keeping this one down. He wanted to get up move the day of surgery and was already asking to jump on the trampoline two days after surgery. Two weeks seems like eternity to a 6 year old (and his parents)!

Michael's baptism

Mikey asked Jesus into his heart almost a year ago and has been bugging us to be baptized ever since. We wanted to make sure he understood what being baptized meant, so we asked him. He said it was so that he could let everyone know that Jesus was in his heart, but Jesus wasn't really in his heart because He is everywhere but His gift was in His heart. Mikey, what gift is that? The Holy Spirit. Faith of a child. So we were setting the date for his baptism and found out that Jeff and Monica LaMonte were coming. We thought, what better than to have them share this special day with us, so we scheduled the baptism during their visit.

We were so excited to have Jeff and Monica come visit for Spring break. It was a great week filled with lots of laughing, Rockband, shopping, movies, poker, eating and of course catching up. We love you guys, thanks for visiting!!!

Michael's School Performance

Micahel at the Dallas Aquarium

I took the day off and joined Michael on his fieldtrip to the Dallas aquarium. We started the day at a nearby park, which I thought was a great idea. The kids got to run around and wear off some energy before the drive to the aquarium. I have found going on fieldtrips with Michael to be a tiring experience. He can't stay at one spot more than two seconds, then it is running to the next thing. I did make him sit and watch the fish swim all around us in the glass tunnel, which once he sat, he really enjoyed. It was a great day, and I'm so glad that I got to go with him!

It is hard to believe that this is our first experience with soccer. None of the kids have ever expressed interest in this sport before. Michael came to us and asked if he could play soccer a couple of months ago. We discussed it and thought you know what, he would probably enjoy it more than t-ball. Although he does like t-ball, he tends to get a little bored because he likes to be constantly moving, so what better than soccer! One of his basketball coaches also coaches a soccer team. So we put Michael on his team, the Sharks. He is really enjoying himself. The first game, we were obviously new comers as Mike and I thought there were three periods and asked how they have a half time. We quickly got the hang of it and found ourselves cheering everyone to run after the ball. It should be a fun season.

Happy Birthday Annie

Annie celebrated her 12th, yes 12th, birthday! We went to Luigi's (a local Italian restaurant) for dinner and enjoyed some cheesecake at home. Annie decide no party this year so that she could get an IPOD (hot pink, of course). Happy Birthday Princess!!!

All of the kids had a great season, played really hard and with great attitudes, we are so very proud of them!

Track

As soon as basketball was over at the middle school, track began. At first, Amanda wasn't going to do track, but decided to join all her friends and do it. At her first meet, she ran the 200 meter. We were all excited. We sat out in the freezing cold wrapped in blankets waiting for her race. We watched her standing out there in her tiny thin uniform freezing and jumping up and down trying to stay warm. It was finally time for her race, but, unfortunately, they started the girls on the wrong markers, which made the girls to staggered. It was a big bummer to all of us. We were very proud of her though because she gave it her all the entire race even though she knew she had no chance of placing. Good effort babe!


The rest of the season (which was only two meets), Amanda did the high jump. She had great form, but had a hard time getting the height. Track came and went really fast, but she seemed to enjoy it and plans on doing it again next year.

Wild Things end of year pool party

Annie's basketball team always has a pool party to celebrate the season. This is a highlight each year but is unfortunately our last one as this will be Annie's last year playing basketball (she will be to old next year and will be doing drill at the middle school instead of sports).

School Valentine's parties

As always, the kids loved their Valentine's parties. Mike and I took turns visiting all of the parties. I am so blessed to be at the same school as the kids so that I don't have to miss any of this.



Mikey's class made ice cream sundaes, yummy. During the party, I was approached in the hall by his teacher who informed me that Mike was the hit of the party, he happily was squirting whip cream in all of the kid's mouths. I let her know that she hasn't seen anything until she has been on a fieldtrip with him!



Matthew's grade had a "sock hop" in the gym. It was a ton of fun! Matthew apparently takes after his mother and loves to dance, but unfortunately he is a little more like is father in the moves, but he enjoyed himself and that is all that matters.


Annie's grade had lots of food, games and karoke. This is a shot of a group of her friends with a little to much sugar in them. When I visited the party the girl's were enjoying a good old food fight, unfortunately, I didn't get any picture of it.

Amanda went to a school dance on Valentine's day. She said it was the best dance ever. Once I get a picture, I will post it.

Matthew's SAGE fieldtrip

Matt and Mike visited the North Texas History Museum with Matthew's SAGE class. Both agreed that it was an excellent fieldtrip because there was alot of hand's on things to do.
