Knight Michael and Knight Austin

Michael has made a new friend, Austin. They are quite the pair. Here they are defending their castle from the evil sisters and brother! Unfortunately, their attention span with the castle was shorter than it took for mommy to put it all up, but they had fun while it last and it provided mommy with a great picture opportunity. (by the way, Michael is the one with the red cape, kinda hard to tell)

Happy Birthday Mike!

Mike was truly surprised when he opened his birthday gift, an IPod. We have officially joined the craze.

It is hard to believe that another year of school is done. It goes by way to fast! The kids did great this year, and we are very proud of them (Mike and I aren't quite sure where they get all of their intellect, guess we make a good mixture!). Although, I'm sad for the next school year to approach, Mikey can't wait to join his brother and sisters at the "big" school!

field trip to Ranger Stadium

Daddy got to go on a field trip with Matthew and the whole 3rd grade to the Ranger's stadium. The boys had a lot of fun, and I was thankful that they kept Mike and John D. separated (the trouble those "boys" have caused in previous field trips!).

Mikey's run in with an end table

Apparently, Mikey didn't feel like knocking his front teeth out was enough. Shortly after I returned from Colorado (shortly meaning I had only been home for a couple of hours), Mikey fell and hit his head on one of our end tables. Mike was able to get there quick enough (and react quick enough) that not even one drop of blood hit the floor. So, off to the ER we went. Luckily no stitches, they just glued him back together!

Could that be Kelly Clarkson I see?

Annie's class did a famous Texan museum. Annie had to choose a famous Texan, write a report, display and say a speech on that person (Annie choose Kelly Clarkson, she's become a huge American Idol fan and can't wait until she can tryout). Then the day of the museum, guest got to visit and push the button on each person's hand to hear their story. The kids did an awesome job, and I was very impressed that each one kept eye contact while giving their speech. It was a really neat project.

The high school Graduate!

The day after my parents left, I was on my way back to Colorado to see Alex graduate from high school. It was a crazy trip there, which included a shortcut to LAX, but I made it in time for graduation. As always, I had an awesome time with my sister and her family. Congrats Al! (for those of you that were there, Alex was the baby at mine and Mike's wedding --- feeling old yet?)

Is that Papa May and Matthew?

While Grandma and Papa May were visiting, we got to enjoy an afternoon at a local water park, Hawaiian Falls. Grandpa couldn't let the kids be the only ones having fun, so he joined them on some of the crazy water slides. Although he did enjoy them, he admitted that the lazy river was more his speed. We had a great visit with them, but it went way to fast.

Happy 5th Birthday Mikey!

We celebrated Mikey's 5th birthday early because Grandma and Papa May were here visiting. It was our first Chuck E. Cheese b'day party and I think mommy and daddy loved it as much as the kids. Not only did we get to truly enjoy the party, but there was no work involved!

The preschool graduate!

Michael looked adorable in his graduation cap (which was taped to his head!). He had a great year of preschool and only gave his teacher, Ms. Kerrie, a little bit of trouble.

Sandy Lake Amusement Park Choir Competition

Amanda sang with her 5th school choir at Sandy Lake Amusement Park. The choir did an awesome job and won first place! We then got to enjoy the rides for a couple of hours, lots of fun for Amanda and her friends.

The college graduate!

I got to go to Colorado and see my niece, Kellie, graduate from the University of Colrado. It was a quick trip, but I also got to celbrate Edith's birthday and Mother's day with my mom. I made it home just in time for my kids to do a play of Aladdin and a lip sync of an Elvis song.

Art Show

Last night, we went to an art show at the kid's school. These pictures only show one of the projects that each one of them had displayed. The school also had face painting, done by the 6th graders (yes, that is Laura Donaldson), and oragami. We had a fun time and saw some amazing art!

Heritage Park in Dallas

I accompanied Annie on a field trip to Heritage Park in Dallas (a town made up to look like the 1800 and 1900's). She and her friends, Kelsi and Riley, thought it was pretty cool. They were asked the question if they would like to live in today's time or the 1900's. Annie wants to live in the 1900's because of the beautiful houses (she thought everyone lived in one like the one she is pictured in). When I reminded her that that house didn't have an inside toilet, hot showers, no refrigerators, televisions, phones, etc... she kinda changed her mind. She now wants to live in the 1900's (so she can live in a beautiful house) but with today's technology. Nice try. Also, she asked me if I wore a bonnet like we saw in one of the houses to school! Hello, I don't think so. I did tell her that grandma May had those books, she thought that was pretty cool.

Game Day

The girls performed in a church production called Game Day. It was a program based on our VBS theme for this year. This little choir did pretty awesome!

Saturdays are spent at the field (depending on weather of course). We love this time of year. Mike is busy helping coach the three older ones teams, and I get to sit back and enjoy the games.

Coloring Easter eggs

As always, the kids enjoyed coloring eggs. Mikey has become much better at it, and no longer plops the eggs into the dye. We really missed grandma and papa May's help though!

Spousal abuse?

Mike filed a report to the police officer next door for spousal abuse stating that his wife was making him mow in the snow (ok, it was just with John) ! It wasn't like it snowed the whole time, or like the snow was even sticking. I do have to admit I did guilt him into it, but it wasn't snowing at the time. Don't worry, he survived and a mug of hot chocolate was waiting for him when he was done (see, I'm not such a mean wife). By the way, like our John Deere?

Annie and her friend, Kelsi, sang a Point of Grace song for the GA (girl's in action) talent show. They have the sweetest voices and did an excellent job!

Amanda and Laura wrote a script on how to become a Christian and did it for their GA talent show. Good job girls!

Matthew was excited to get his new basketball and hoop, now if daddy and mommy could only find the time to put it up.

Matthew's Mad Scientist B'day Party

We had Matthew's birthday party on Saturday (3/17). It was a mad scientist party complete with the mad scientist himself (daddy). We did 4 or 5 experiments with the boys including the mentos and diet coke erruption (bigger winner). The boys had a lot of fun. Here the boys are all decked out in there "lab coats" and safety goggles singing Happy Birthday to Matthew. Can't believe how quickly these kids are growing.

Fort Worth Zoo

We realized that Mikey hadn't been to the zoo yet. So, while the kids were on Spring Break, we decided to go. We had a lot of fun and Mikey's favorite animals were the lizards in the reptile exhibit.

Annie had a slumber party with 9 of her friends, we are still recovering!
