Go Steelers!!!

Mike was very excited to host our Sunday School classes' Super Bowl Party this year, you know, since the Steelers were playing.

Yes, those are Matthew's fatheads you see on my living room wall. The house was full of Steeler's memorabilia.

Some weren't as thrilled with the game as others. The girls retreated to the bedroom to play some rockband while Randy took a small nap.

Sorry Darla, ok not really. Mike and Darla exchanged some "friendly" words during the game. Darla wasn't as much a fan of the Cardinals as she was rooting that the Steelers would lose.

Let's celebrate!!!

Basketball weekend for Amanda

Amanda was chosen by her coach to participate in her school's pep rally. We didn't know about it ahead of time, so unfortunatley we weren't able to go, but one of my friends took these pictures with his phone (thanks Kris).

The middle school's girl's basketball team was honored during half time at the high school varsity girl's basketball game. This year's Varsity team is doing great and will start playoffs on Monday.

The weekend ended with the Amanda and her team getting to go on the floor and meet the SMU's girl's basketball team. We had followed one of the players, Haley Day, when she played for our high school's girl basketball team and won state two years ago, so it was pretty cool to watch her play again.

Annie qualified for the school's spelling bee!

Annie was so excited that she qualified for the spelling bee. She searched me out at the school and anounced it in the middle of class. It is wonderful being at the same class as them so I can catch all of these moments. Unfortunately she got out in the second round with the word "chinchilla" (she forgot one of the "l's).

Check out these moves!!!

Michael has always loved to dance, especially breakdancing. He has even been known to get on the coffee table so he can spin. At the end of every movie, he wants to hear the music so that he can dance to it. He won't usually do it for the camera, but we talked him into on this particular night. Enjoy!

Matthew's turn at Camp Grady Spruce

This year was Matthew's turn to go to Camp Grady Spruce with the school. He has heard about this camp for two years now from his sisters, so he was pretty pumped to go. I think it was even better than he thought it was going to be. Although we missed him terribly at home, he had an awesome time and came home with tons of stories and a few pictures.

This is what happens when you send a 10 year old boy with disposable cameras. When I saw the pictures, I questioned why he had taken so many pictures of his food, he simply said "I knew you would ask what I ate, and this way I could just show you the pictures.", why of course. I was lucky enough that he did think of getting in a couple of the pictures and they weren't all scenery. Unfortunately, many of them were dark, so no pictures of the dance competition that he not only participated in but made it to the final three (I'm still asking around for pictures or video and will post them if I come across any).

Koinonia scavenger hunt

Our Sunday school class had a winter wonderland scavenger hunt Saturday night. After a yummy dinner (food is of course at any function) we were told our objectives --- take 5 pictures with everyone standing in front of something white and collect 5 white items that could fit in a white lunch sack. We broke into our assigned groups and off we went. I do have to admit, our group came up with some creative things, but the most creative had to be Matthew's. Matthew lost a tooth while running around Rockwall, guess what, it was white and could fit in a bag!

Yeah, were up to date!

Just a quick note about the site. When you look at it, you will notice that the pictures don't really correspond with the dates, that is because it shows the date I loaded the picture and not the date it was taken. So we didn't really take our summer vacation in November, and the kids really did start school in August, etc... Unfortunately, I don't know how to change this, so just go with it and enjoy the pictures.
